Hello, I am new to the forum. I have some big Berbuda questions. We are advanced open water divers and will be traveling with snorkelers. We've heard that the snorkeling in Bermuda is great. I recently read that the only good snorkeling sites are not on the mainland but need to be gotten to by a boat/private tour.:dork2:

We're debating between snorkeling and SCUBA diving for ourselves (less equipment to bring). Is one better than the other?

Are there snorkeling sites in Bermuda that are comperable to the SCUBA sites? Any suggestions?

Is it true that the only good snorkeling sites are not on the mainland?

Just came across this thread. Great snorkelling sites are Tobacco Bay and Church Bay. There are all kinds of great places, if you want to step off the shore. The Dockyard on the west end has a snorkel park, and you can venture around Fort St Catherine from Tobacco Bay on the east end. There are lots of good glass-bottom boat/snorkel trip operators; I recommend Jesse James (he's in the phone book). If this isn't too late - have fun! I am very familiar with Bermuda, if you have ant questions.
