I sort of like the way neoprene smells because it reminds me of pleasant times and exotic locations. The same way I used to like the smell of fixer when I had the photo darkroom hobby.

I really like the fit and warmth of my Bare 5/4 fullsuit, but after wearing it about 3 times it still smells strongly of neoprene and really potently imparts the smell to my skin.

Last night as I was trying to sleep I could still smell the neoprene odor rolling off my skin. That's in spite of a good shower with some fragrant shower gel beforehand.

My wife probably thought she was in bed with a mannequin -- same personality, same smell.

Anyone offer any not too weird solutions for the smelly skin?

Woolwash, Air, imagination and:sleeping:

you can try rinsing your wetsuit with downy next time ;)

Drink a LOT of water, right before you go diving. That should take care of it.

For lingering odours on your skin, a bit of lemon juice splashed on your skin as you're rinsing off might work (mix the juice of a lemon with a couple of litres of water and pour on yourself).

But the most effective solution for most smells is the extra shower.

The neoprene scent will be washed out of your suit soon so your wife won't have to live with the mannequin smell for long.
