I am looking into either a Oxycheq 18lb, DSS 17lb or HOG 23lb wing for a travel BP/W. I am looking for recommendations on these or other wings of a similar size.

I have the DSS 17 on a steel backplate. I dive tropical with rash guard or 2.5mm shorty. If I can find what I need from DSS, then that will be my first choice. Great quality products and great support.

With HOG's warranty, I'd have it at the top of the list, and was the main reason for my decision. DSS is always right up there too with customer satisfaction, but because I like "red", HOG gets the foot up.

FWIW - I have a DSS SS plate and a HOG singles wing.

I have the Oxycheq 18 with the Oxycheq SS travel plate ( I like attachment points and rigidity of a metal plate rather than their untralite plate), deluxe Oxycheq harness, and medium Oxycheq pockets for use when I need extra weight. I love the low profile, durability and ease of packing for travel that this offers.

I have the DSS 17 lb wing -- it was a lovely thing to use when I used to dive wet.

I also have the DSS 17# & love the integrated STA. I know the HOG has its own built in roll control but I've never seen one in person. I love their regs but I didn't like all that red in their wings. Figures now DRIS offers them in all black...

I have a HOG 32 lb wing, absolutely would buy one again. Yes, with the roll-control bit you don't need a STA.

Oxycheq 18lb, I love this wing it's tiny, my favorite wing when geography allows. I did swap out the OPV for a DSS one as to me seemed so much more substantial.

I have an Oxycheq 18lb wing for the rare occasions I dive single-tank. It doesn't get a lot of use, but over the last year I've been really pleased with it. It's configured with a Halcyon ali backplate and one-piece harness. I have two weight pockets on the upper cam-band, that each hold 2lbs to off-set a 3mm full suit.
