We diched work yesterday to hit one of our favorite hunting wrecks. Sloppy and green is the best way to describe it. Water temp on top was in the mid seventies. It was green from surface all the way down to 80fsw, then the lights came on and the heat went off! It was a balmy 46 on the bottom in 130fsw. Even with my heavy underwear on, I could only force myself to do 35 minutes on the bottom. Everyone went home with something good for dinner. As any one who hunts will tell you, there is no bigger uncertainty then hanging in green soup, with dead fish, wondering if the tax man is near.

Thanks E. Been there done that....and its no fun whatsoever! I'm surprised the bottom is still that cold.

I feel like it's XMas today. My dive buddy just called and said he is buying/ordering a new boat this weekend, so we have a new toy to play with. A decked out new Carolina Skiff 238. It should be great to dive the rivers, bay, bridge tunnels and inshore on the right days. It will open up our diving to another 50+ dives a year onto of what we do already. :D

A buddy who just ordered a new boat is a great thing indeed! As for the cold, something weird is going on this year. The heat goes down a lot deeper than normal, but the cold is a constant at depth? IDK?
