I have a flight from Dallas-San Antonio-Dallas-Panama. Return is Panama-Dallas-San Antonio-Dallas. Did this for the best airfare and I live in Dallas.

Questions...
Going - Can I just get on the flight Dallas-Panama and skip the Dallas-San Antonio-Dallas?
Coming back - Can I get off after the Panama-Dallas and skip the Dallas-San Antonio-Dallas?

What are the repercussions for skipping connecting flights?

Thanks!

Coming home yes, provided you do carry-on only. Going to, no...if you don't show for the first leg the balance will be cancelled.

If you plan to check baggage, you'll have to do the whole enchilada.

You have to get your bags off of the carousel at your first point of entry into the US, go through customs and then re-check bags for your domestic connection.

He's a friend of mine and we're on the same trip. What we're wanting to know is are there any penalties for just leaving the airport in Dallas and not re-checking your bags on the SA connection and getting on the connecting flight?

I've done this sort of thing before, on a Dallas-Tulsa connection. As Diver Lori said, you have to take all the hops going down, but when you get to DFW on the return trip and clear customs, just leave. This was a couple of years ago, but there were no penalties and nobody in black Suburbans came looking for me :cool2:

Diver Lori and Firefyter, thanks! That's what I was looking to see. It will be a long day going, but at least the return will be shorter!

Ok, do you have an answer for us?

No I don't---I'm just commenting on all the extra travel going to be done for less money----they(airline co's) are screwed up IMO.....

Just thinking though off the top of my head, unless you carry everything above your head, you'll probably need to stick with the scheduled flights----not a total loss though---that small bag of peanuts will be worth it.....

Another suggestion----call the airline up & ask someone high up the totum pole what you can or cannot do......

Did that, but didn't get high enough up the totem pole. They weren't sure what would happen if I got off on the return flight. They did have the same answer for going as above.

I have booked plenty of (cheaper) return flights even though I only wanted and used the outgoing leg. I dont see there is anything the airline can do about you not getting on the flights from Dallas. Unlikely to refuse your money in future!

If airlines have ridiculous pricing policies then they should expect people to play games with them.
