I have an ORCA Skinny Dipper computer which needs batteries. Are replacement batteries available and if so where might I procure them ?? If I can't get batteries I probably need to purchase new computer. Thanx

Yup, available but very hard to find in the normal places.

It takes either an original battery pack... used to be available pretty much only from Orca, but I wouldn't hold my breath now...

Or what also works are three separate lithium 3-volt CR 1/2 AA batteries. Varta makes them; their battery number is 6127. Still available here.

Um, you might also see CR 1/2 AA batteries around that are 3.6 volts each. They will not work. Trust me, I know. They have to be 3 volts.

My kid was using my old Sherwood Sigma II (Skinny Dipper clone) a couple years ago, but he kept forgetting to turn the thing on when descending. We got him a hockey puck instead.

Might wanta post on our Computers forum....

It does help with discussions if you complete your Profile. And it's even more fun when you load an Avatar (personal pic for each post) and a Profile pic. See UserCP above to access these if you'd like to...? ;)

If you haven't yet, click Forums above and start going thru the list - looking for those of interest to you, especially your local dive club. Always good to try a Search before starting a new thread, tho :search: - click here for Search help, and be careful about posting Threads & Replies before reading the Sticky threads at the tops of most forums. PM me if I can help you around here..

There was a thread on this very subject 2-3 years ago. You might try a search to locate it. I think I remember they listed a source or two for the batteries. I'll have to try the Vartas though for mine.
