Hi

I will be in Bacolod from December to January and willl be going to Apo but came across Sipalay. Which Dive resort would you recomend, Either with the familly or just myself and brother in law. What about night life? Assuming it is just the brother in law and I. Just looking to check the place out for a few days since I will be in the area.

Thanks

there is no night life in Sipalay. Its a very remote town in the middle of the sugar plantations of Negros. If you want party and women there is nothing there but the beach and place is really nice for some quite time with the family. There are only 5 dive operations there, I can recommend 2, takatuka diving and easy diving, both swiss-german owned. Just hit google with those names and you'll get their websites. If you plan on diving, insist on diving the wrecks, because apart from those the other reef sites are totally not worth it.

apo island or apo reef?

would not recommend to stay on apo island stay on the negros side

Apo island, I stayed at Liberty's last time there and enjoyed my stay. Quiet but cool for a few days and reasonable by my account.

I did a few dives with Art Mueller's Artistic Diving in Punta Ballo, Sipalay last November. He was the first dive operator there and discovered most if not all the dive sites in the area.

Was pretty happy with the service I got and you pretty much have the beach all to yourself. He has a pool and a bar right in front of the beach too.

For a really nice place, I'd recommend Nataasan Resort. This is where I stayed for 2 nights (its just a short distance from Artistic Diving and it has a great view as it is the only resort there on a cliff). Its run by a Belgian guy named Joel Peerboom.

Thanks for the post. I had my brother inlaw scope out the sites over therr and we are going to go with Artistic
