H2Andy:ok... well.. i just got my first taste ever of Laphroaig (pardon me if i don't pronounce it).
i have to say i was a bit scared with all the "iodine" and "medicine taste" stuff, but
upon tasting it, i find it most excellent
the peat is there, to be sure, but it's a very soft, sort of sea-shore taste, with
hints of animal musk and maybe light brown sugar? a bit of a wood fire? anyway... it's awesome
i've never had this sort of tasting experience with wine.
i think i'm hooked
D_O_H:You guys need to stop posting to this thread - every time I see it, I have to go pour myself a scotch (Highland Park 18 this time, if you must know)
Andy: if you've developed a fondness for Laphroaig, you are officially certified to try (and probably like) any scotch.
I'm bringing a 1 litre bottle to the Keys...H2Andy:i think i'm hooked
