In my experience, sensations like this do persist when you
down more than a fifth at one sitting.

and I have returned to Islay. Laphroiag quarter cask was opened this evening.
I am a blithe laddie. My wife tried it and found it not to her liking. That's fine ... she has her own bottle of Bunnahabhain.

Slainte.

Then there must be another reason. Any pharmaceuticals involved per chance?
:D

ok... well.. i just got my first taste ever of Laphroaig (pardon me if i don't pronounce it).

i have to say i was a bit scared with all the "iodine" and "medicine taste" stuff, but
upon tasting it, i find it most excellent

the peat is there, to be sure, but it's a very soft, sort of sea-shore taste, with
hints of animal musk and maybe light brown sugar? a bit of a wood fire? anyway... it's awesome

i've never had this sort of tasting experience with wine.

i think i'm hooked

Of course you haven't. Wine is for quiche-eaters. Whisky is for meat-eaters. :D

What Laphroaig did you enjoy?

SLAINTE !!!

Damm, this is making me thirsty !!!

wine's good stuff... keeps you warm

i drank the plain vanilla 10 year old stuff. it's very good

You guys need to stop posting to this thread - every time I see it, I have to go pour myself a scotch (Highland Park 18 this time, if you must know)

Andy: if you've developed a fondness for Laphroaig, you are officially certified to try (and probably like) any scotch.

I want to know his reaction when he tries Ardbeg 10.
