no worries. That's the way you should be diving it. My usual for warm water is all the way open then back a couple of clicks. I close it if I'm going to be at the surface. I'll close it a few more clicks for cold water if I'm actually inflating the suit, but it is rare since even in 50f water I'll dive a suit squeeze.
