Christian,

I think that your idea is a good one. It gives us a data base if we need to find a diving buddy and it will help us remember given names and not just screen names. Besides, it seems as if we may get into more group dives.

Thanks for organizing this!

California's waters are not cold.....they're coooollll!

Thanks for the support Ann Marie.

I'm hoping that this leads to more friendships within our local dive community. This in turn should lead to people getting together with more groups and therefore more diving for all.

Lately California's waters have been down right warm!

Christian

Comments: I don't need anything except this steel 95 and that's it and that's the only thing I need, is this. Just this steel 95. And these fins. The steel 95 and the fins and that's all I need. And this regulator. The steel 95, the fins and the regulator, and that's all I need. And this mask. The steel 95, and this mask, and the regulator and the fins. And this BC...

By the way, since you have expressed a concern about privacy, I have not added you to the list. If you would like to be on it, just let me know.

Christian
No, I have no concerns about my own privacy, and I see no such problems with the roll call list existing. It's a bit of fun which might have some uses.
Here's my data:

Screen name: Peter McGuinness
Real name: Umm, let me see....
Location: Poway, San Diego County
Club: Seadeucers
Age: Somewhere between wrinkly and crinkly
Dives: Not enough yet

Hi... new to the board, thought I'd say hello.

Screen name: pkrupela
Real Nam: Paul
City: San Clemente
County: Orange
Cert: OW
Dives: Somewhere over 1000 I guess (what's a log book?)
Quick Comment: Mostly liveaboards nowadays although I used to spend 4 nights a week underwater during bug season years ago. Diving for 15+ years and love to travel. Also love to sail (have a sailboat in DP Harbor) and always up for sailing and - this time of year - hitting the drift kelp offshore with a free dive or 10 - and nabbing a yellowtail if I can for dinner. Last weekend sat there watching sea lions work the bait balls 8 miles offshore. Anyone up for sailing, freediving, weekends at Catalina, or in need of a buddy for liveaboards, I'm all ears.

Screen Name: sb_diver
Real Name: Thomas
City: Isla Vista(Goleta, next to UCSB)
County: Santa Barbara
Cert: AOW, AAUS Research Diver
Dives: around 250

I'm a senior Aquatic Bio major, so for any local marine bio questions, if I can't answer them my grad student or professor friends can. Don't hesitate to ask.
My family lives in Irvine, so I dive Laguna occasionally. I'm also involved with the UCSB SCUBA Club and do stuff with Paradise Dive Club in Santa Barbara.
