I picked up a pair of Deep6 Signature 2nds here on the board last year and I'm finally putting them together with the first stage I got from Deep6. Of course my nosy, hairy Great Pyrenees had to come over and inspect what I'm doing. Naturally I reached down and scratched her head and ruffled her neck fur. Should I not be doing that? :p

By the way, the regs came with a 5 foot hose so I'm setting them up according to DGX "streamlined open water."

The dog in question...

Pet hair and lube don't mix week in any environment. 😧🦨😸🐑

Probably "shouldn't", however I've rebuilt second stages on random picnic tables at the dive site.... just make sure you don't get fur where it doesn't belong and all is good.

What better way to reconcile drowning than having made your dog happy?

less of an issue on a second stage and long white hairs should stand out.

My one camera flood, I found a tiny hair on the O-ring. The housing was subsequently pressure checked and no other fault was found. It was a tiny, tiny hair and it was not mine. The room was not well lit and the little table I was working on must have been the source of the FOD. A dog hair inside your regulator could ruin your day.
