Is there any secret to doing this? I need to trim about an inch off my bungees.
 
Bungie Heel Strap Replacement Kit - Force Fin

The plastic bit at the base is in a couple of parts. If you pry the 1/2 tube back it will release the barbs that hold the bungee in place so you can pull more through to shorten it. Then push the tube back. There’s a video at the link. I had to do this after losing a fin.
 
That video comes oh so close. Once you've reattached the barrel to the mounting jacket, do you simply cut the bungee? Or cut and then burn it? @Bob Evans
 
I think the bungee is already melted. I just let the extra be extra in case I change my boot style or somebody else needs the extra length. A half inch on each end isn’t really noticeable, but I suppose you could treat it like any other bungee. My other pair clearly has aftermarket bungee in it as it’s a bit older.
