Hi divers, am new to sidemount and require some help on tank trim. What are some possible reasons for the tank valve to be falling that much? also is my bungee too tight if I can't use one hand to stretch the bungee over the valve?

in the picture I'm using a Al80 tank.

is this at the end of the dive or begging.. def needs to be pulled more into your hip.. any side pic..
this was probably in the beginning. agree that that it needs to be closer to the hip, how can I do that? do I need shorter bolt snap on my cam band?

some combo of butt up and/or valve down trim issues, check bungee length and waist dring positioning.

I would recommend taking a SM course / 2 mentoring days with a cave instructor who dives SM. The reason being is that those people have their gear super streamlined and they can really help you set up the rig correctly and explain how different tweaks of the rig affect tank behaviour in the water. If financially you don't care about spending some money on that, then its by far the best way to proceed!

To me it looks like the bottom of the tank is floating up? Or maybe its just the picture makes it look so?
