Short 4"/6" HP hose for AI transmitter or directly to 1st Stage?

Short hose connecting the AI Transmitter, or just screw it right to the 1st stage?

I want to say I've read about some people using the short hose to avoid damage to the transmitter should a tank monkey grab the transmitter instead of the tank valve when moving a fully loaded tank/kit.

No one - tank monkey or otherwise, ever handles my equipment so this isn't a problem. I got a HP splitter so I could keep my SPG in case of a disconnect. It's never happened but I firmly believe in redundancy.

Me and my buddy both use 4" hoses with air spool to connect transmitter to the first stage.
I use AUP transmitter with Perdix AI and A300CS, she uses Suunto Vyper Air.

Very interesting thread. I've never seen one so did not even know that it could exist.
In general no one touches my gear so damaging it is not an issue.
