Even if it were safe and it were legal, which it is not and I am not defending at all, that is a heck of a swim. And with the current, they will wind up way far from where they started, with a heck of a swim/walk back carrying a lot of heavy gear. I would not EVEN attempt that.

I would not be one bit surprised if at least one of these geniuses ended up getting a chamber ride after the physical exertion required for swim back to whatever beach they may end up washing up upon.

Am I the only one who doesn't see a video?

Great way to save $100 bucks....Not!... It was alarming when Cesar was asking about the other diver, if she was with him and she was no where to be seen. Not much of a buddy system for a extreme dive plan?

Exactly - the fact that they were attempting to surface swim to the wall in that area is Exhibit #1 that they don't know what they are doing. Obviously they could not use rule of 3rds because they would have to turn around before they even got to the wall - and then there's the fact that they clearly weren't practicing the buddy system - they were at least a football field apart from each other. Just loco - haha

Single tanks (not even doubles), surface swim from Iberostar or Albertos to Cedral across heavy boat navigation area - but hey, they do it 4 times a year !
Not four times, four weeks! I think he means they head out into the water each year and spend 4 weeks there floating like lost idiots.

This is a video taken today by a very long standing, active and respected member of our diving community, Cesar of Caribbean Divers. I am posting with his permission.

These divers think they know better than someone who has been a diver and has owned his shop for more than 30 years here. Cesar is an EXPERT diver in both skill and knowledge."

Cesar is a good friend and my "home boat" on the island. I would expect nothing less than to see him recognize unsafe activity that puts EVERYONE at risk. Glad you posted this.
