Shore diving at Chakannab Park used to be pretty good too. You will pay an entry fee but you can spend the day there. We took our kids there a few years ago and they had a blast.

It ahs been a while since I have done this dive but our exit landmark was teh second power cabel. If you leave at the firs, you are short cutting your dive. Depending on the current and your air consumption you might look for the second cable. I remember surfacing about 100 yards from shore on the second cable with 600 lbs of air or so ~ Just in case - you might ask and confirm that the second cable is still there ... like I said, it has been a while since I made that dive.

It seems like we are similar in experiences at Cozumel - we should hook up and make a dive. I will be down there next week. I have also been wanting to come up and camp/dive at Canyon Lake and Lake Travis. I have not been up there since the last PSD conference at Southwest Texas SU.

I'd really be careful surfacing that far out; the boat traffic along there can be pretty heavy. Anyway, following the second cable (if it's the one that comes up the wall after the one at the buoy straight out from Caribe Blu) would put you swimming upcurrent, wouldn't it? I dunno; maybe there are three cables.

At any rate, the last time I did the wall dive from Villablanca, I reached the cable at the buoy with about 500 psi, which was just about right for a swim in at depth. YMM certainly V though, with the variability of the current. Once I made it on the wall from La Ceiba to Caribe Blu with air to spare; it was ripping that day.

You're gonna be on Coz next week? Where are you staying?
