Marsa Shagra is even worse for non-divers: nothing to see in the area. At least at the Breakers you can still walk down the promenade to the marina or spend a few hours at the kite house or in other hotels.
The kids will be fine snorkeling at both.

Is that the same thing for Marsa Shagra and its sisters? I am the only diver; my two young kids will love snorkeling every day. Wife has nothing to do with water so far.

At Shagra, your wife can take a camel ride. There are also activities like yoga studio and massage. Or you can send her to Luxor for a 2 or 3 day trip.

In this case, marsa shagra is your place. You need to ask about their internet in the rooms. I know that they have internet in the lobby but don't know about the rooms. If not, ask if there is good 4G coverage. You can buy SIM card easily there.

We had very good coverage with good upload and download speed (foto and video editing in the cloud). We did not rely on the hotel's WIFI but took a Data SIM Card on arrival (WE).
