Shore diving in Tampa bay

Does anyone know if there are any other dive spots (besides Spanish Rocks) in Tampa Bay suitable for shore diving? I've heard something about a Whitney Beach dive site by the Longboat Key bridge?

Spanish rocks is a pretty good dive site but looking for something different accessible from the beach.

Btw, here's a video I shot at Spanish Rocks past 2 weeks (low vis but lots of creatures to see).

What about springs like Blue Grotto etc ? Not really 'shore' diving, but definitely not a boat dive.

Hey Trig, I can meet up with you sometime and show you my book that has all the shore spots. I also have a few others that are not in there. My divebuddy(son) had to get another job because he is getting married in Nov and it has finally sunk in that 800 a month won't cut it.

Spanish Rocks always produces some good dives. There are times where viz is very poor and you can't really see your buddy but there is still plenty to see on the reef those days. The dive spot provides easy access to some inexpensive diving when you either want to get wet or want to take some less experienced divers out.

I have the book by Ned Deloach, Diving Guide to Underwater Florida, it's decent for shore diving and provides some GPS coords to off-shore sites.

Good day diving! Killed a lionfish at the Anna Maria reef. Got 2 flounder. Vis was nice at about 10' cant wait to see the video.
