How is the shore diving at the Wyndham resort?

We stayed at Hotel Cozumel last year. The shore diving from across the street was very good!

How will the Wyndham compare?

It won't. It's within the park boundaries so you'd need a guide to accompany you, but having snorkeled the area years ago I wouldn't waste my time.

The only real shore diving seem to be from Casa del Mar to Hotel Cozumel.

There is no shore diving at the Wyndham.
Try Chankanaab Park.
Sand Dollar Sports, the Dive Shop at the Wyndham, has a set-up at Chankanaab.

Jeff.

Unless their policies have changed very recently, Sand Dollar, the onsite operation will not rent tanks for shore diving there for various reasons - rocky shoreline, nothing to see but sand, currents and no easy exit points if you cannot make it back, it's within park boundaries, and a lot of boat traffic and general liability.

Jeff.

My buddy and I got the brilliant idea of cabbing it up to Chankanaab for a shore dive.

Taxi - $7 each way.
Park admission - $16.
Tank rental - $21.

At the end of it all, we could have done a boat dive.

OTOH, I saw the only eagle ray of the trip there.

Can you bring your own tanks into Chankanaab? I ask because last year we did some shore diving near the Marina and just got extra tanks from our dive op at a very reasonable rate.
