Well, not as much as you would think. I read a story the other week on the availability of loose women in the jail....

I guess you had to read the story. The jail was accused of allowing a girl in for murder to run a bordello in her cell. And Por Esto being the typical Latin newspaper, it had her advertising photos as well....

Gawdalmighty! But then again, here in USA a we have convicts knocking up female correctional officers, so there is no end to people not getting the "Serve your debt to society" message.

Well, someone is serving and someone is paying, so..... Maybe it evens out?

A friend of mine spent a couple of years in a Colombian jail. According to him such things were commonplace there. Also, if an inmate could secure some sort of revenue stream during his or her incarceration, better living conditions could be negotiated.

Wow, I didn't know there were any gangs on Cozumel. In fact, there's a website called "My Cozumel" run by some expats who've been living there for 12 years and they boast how safe Coz is because it's an island. But yeah, nothing good happens at 3am, either here or overseas.
