Well, I didn't get the beach dive done, but I did dive on Barracuda Alley. The visibility was from 5-20 feet due to lots of floating matter (I assume algea, plankton, etc.) There were al telast two large schools of bait fish on the barge there and many spade fish as well as barracuda, some of the diver reported jacks as wel but I didn't see them myself. Barracuda alley consists of a 140 foot barge and groupings of surplus Army APCs. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the dive site from the Marina at Little River. Susan and I dove with Coastal Scuba and they were a great group to go with.
The temps were 80 degrees top to bottom (50-60 feet) and there was just enough current so you could see the plankton moving. We did two dives. There are a numer of other wrecks in the area ranging from Pre-civil war to fairly modern. If anyone is inerested in putting together adive trip I can get pretty cheap lodgings ($49-79 for studio through 2 bedrooms) at a resort there I belong to, to get this price I have to go along of course!
Here are some pictures from the trip.
Lots of floating matter (alge, other stuff) so I used 2 strobes, off angle with diffusers, still managed to get some over exposure and off course back scatter. Anyway, hope you like them!
