Some highlights of reef and bull sharks visiting us during a double-dip to the YTD-14 Navy Dive Tender off Pensacola, Florida recently. Best watched in HD mode.

Video

Shot in natural light with a Hero5 and magenta filter and lightly post-processed for white balance. The water was pretty green and doesn't give a lot of room for color correction.

Interesting video. They seem to follow your light. Is it common to see bull sharks at this site year-round? What was the depth here? Thanks, Win

Bull sharks are the most common type in our area and are usually 'around' most of the dive sites, if not readily visible. Not uncommon to see a single or pair if you know how to look at the edges of visibility - much less common to see them this close or in larger groups (we saw 7 together here a month ago).

This particular site has been drawing the sharks fairly regularly all year. Sand is at 100', the deck about 85'. It's 12 miles offshore which is far enough to usually have at least 50' vis and sometimes closer to 100' - although there's usually a mid-water milky layer that keeps the overall light fairly dark.

There is another wreck (the YTD-15) about 400 yards away that is rarely dove - some conjecture the sharks tend to congregate on the YTD-15 and come over to the YTD-14 when they hear divers.
