Has anyone gone on the shark dive off of Roatan. I'll be at Anthony's Key on 2/29 for 8 days and wanted to take this dive. Any feedback?

Greg:D

some folks did this while I was there (I didn't, had to decide between dolphins and sharks and the dolphins won) but they said it was the coolest thing they have ever done. A friend of mine said the same thing when he did it several years ago.

I am going to do it when I go in July...

Great dive, and well worth the money. Resorts are scheduled for specific days with the operator (Waihuka Adventure Diving). Sign up for the shark dive the as soon as you arrive at your resort. I've seen folks sit out the dive because they waited too long to sign up. The fattest and most photogenic Caribbean reef sharks I've ever seen. The dive was around 40 minutes at 70 feet, safe and well organized. Get your t-shirt a size larger than normal if you plan on washing it.

AWESOME...Can't %$#@%&* wait.:D

I am no big fan of "canned Shark Rodeos", but this is the best I have seen in the Caribbean.

It is well equipped and well run. Pay attention at the briefing, it may well save your life. I'm not talking about what to do if you get attacked! The more important details are how to use the provided network of lines in the likely case of current.

Good time.

This is a fun dive. Had my 13 year old son do it last year. He took plenty of great pictures.

Once the sharks finish with the bucket and the DM releases you, swim to where the bucket was and you will find some sharks teeth for keepsakes.

Have Fun!

Didnt do the dive but talked to some you did. Said it was great and highly recomend that i do it on the next trip. I know AKR offers it through them but if you check around you can find it much cheap. I was quoted $75 at one point and saw it for as much as $125.

I am not a fan of staged dives. But this Feb when my wife and I were there my wife wanted to do the dive. So we did. It was great fun. We did not have a camera so we bought the dvd. It was very well done. As mentioned by Roatanman pay attention to the briefing for the reason he stated. The current can be quite strong. It was for our dive. My wife struggled with it until we started down the mooring line. Under low current conditions you are permitted to swim with the sharks before the feeding.
