Ive been on a few shark dives out of that area and this story doesent sound like any of the boats that ive dove from. Im sorry you all had a bad day.

I had a completely different experience with Charlie on Monday. 5 (possibly 6) sharks at one time, and one big male that was approaching 10' in length.

Sorry you guys struck out. It was evidently Charlie's only bad shark charter of the summer.

I'm planning on going out with Snappa one more time next month.

This guy has a real good track record of fishing and shark dive charters. He has done a few great shark dives with this group in the past. It was one of those rare things that go wrong. I had a real bad first experience and I'de hate to judge him to harshly form what I believe was a rare mistake he made. I do feel a quick wreck dive charter or something at a reduced fee
would have healed our pain a bit. I'de rather not post the charter for he was quite nice and he felt bad himself when we got back into port.

Hey Peace what type of sharks were they. All blue's?. I'de welcome a dive report. I'm really happy you had a great time. Way to to go there. It was one of those rare days. But there is nothing like fresh chum for those sharks.

All blues, and it was amazing. It did take close to 3 hours for the sharks to appear, though.

The following day (Tues the 30th) he had only 1 shark, a nice-sized mako, and it was only there for about a half hour. I suspect that had way more to do with the weather.

I think you guys may have struck out because of the seal. There is a reason that something that tasty would be floating in the open ocean uneaten, and I think it's because it was so rotten the sharks wanted nothing to do with it. I'm sure our captain has learned from his mistakes; he told me it was the closest he's come to puking on his boat in a while, and that the smell of the seal was with him even after he showered and hit the sack.

I'm heading back out on the 24th of september. Come on out!

When you were out of the cage and the videographer was below you, did you also have a safety diver watching your back?

I did a shark dive off so cal coast couple of years back and we were outside the cage. But when we were outside the cage we had to have the safety diver. That was cool with mebecause I was taking pictures anyway and not paying attention.

We had to chum for a little over 2 hours before any sharks showed. All blues, 6 all together, came around with the biggest being probably 4 to 6 ft. All was well until an aggressive mako showed up and caused a ruckus makin the divers that were in the water get out pretty quick.

Here are a couple of my favorite shots:

Actually I was constantly scanning around and kept a beeline view for the door of the cage that was left open. We didn't rerally have a safety diver we made sure to discolor any red or yellow we had on us with duct tape or marker. I saw your pictures and they are quite awsome. I'm mostly envious there; really nice.

Do those colors attract or excite sharks?

Don't got no sharks in my neck of the woods... :(

Yes were wereadvised against bright red and yellow.

Mythbusters, actually confirmed that yellow attracts sharks. They call it yum-yum yellow. I would advise against too much yellow.
