Was it insured?

Nope, lesson learned. I now have to figure out if I want to wait on a new camera and take an intro class or wait on the class and get a new camera (decisions, decisions) :dontknow:.

Ouch.

I was about to house a dSLR when I decided to go ahead and get my gear for cavern diving.

I used DEPP for insurance back in the day, they replaced one camera and sent me a check for the second flooded camera(camera was no longer available and the used ones were selling for more than I paid for the camera new!).

Didn't he have the SeaLife camera in its proprietary housing? If I were at home, I'd just check the exif info, but don't have that program here at work :/

I thought he had one of those cameras made specifically for scuba, but I couldn't remember the make. FTR, exif is: SeaLife DC500. Don't know why I didn't think to check exif first :dontknow:

What was the make on your housing?

I had a Sealife DC500 in it's proprietary Sealife housing.

The cavern zone of Shangri-La is a stright tube that pinches off towards the back. From that point on the cave zone begins which is tight sidemount passage. Within the cavern zone there are a couple of tubes (one of them was pic #5) that maybe advanced no mount divers can check out. I on the other hand have no training or desire to sqeeze into little areas. I like fairly big passage which allows me to enjoy the shapes of the passage I am in.

You can enjoy the shapes of small passages. You just have to do it by feel instead of sight... ;)
