ya, I need to go back and re-read last dive now. Just finished re-reading Fatal Depth. SO says these books make him feel like a wussy diver! :) I don't mind being wussy and warm, but these guys sure do some serious diving.

Is that show on every Monday? If you had posted a few hours earlier I might have caught it. :) Thanks, we will check it out!!

Both are great books, Shadow Divers and Last Dive.

Last night (11/15) they aired a story on the USS SanDiego, the armored cruiser that went down in 1918 off of the coast of Long Island, NY. Having dove that wreck while I lived out there, it was pretty spectacular uncoverning the background of it all.

deep sea detectives will be coming out with some new epsoieds soon(around jan to july) like ten or so some where around there

Great book! Not only does it give you the history of the dives and how they discovered it, etc...it goes into the victims (German sailors) lives and puts that part into perspective...

Well written and very informative to boot! (no pun intended)

I just finished Last Dive and that was another good read Looking for more books like it!

Yes, it is on every Monday. Would've posted sooner, but I had to watch the show!

Read The Last Dive last year and just finished Shadow Divers today. Both excellent books, very informative on how quick you can go from bad to worse to DEAD. good lessons to know and learn from, personally I dont see myself at 230 ft in the North Atlantic, The Doria is a little out of reach as well, and from what I have heard she is starting to fall apart.

Ok I'm done :crafty:

Shadow Divers was an awesome book. Last dive was alright, but I thought Bernie jumped around a little bit too much.

Just finished last night. It was a great read and started me thinking about some of the ramifications of diving in general.

1. DCS is horrible. We all know this but the scene in the book just reinforced this.
2. Voodoo may save you. I know that I would never attempt a dive, where my faculties must be turned on and tuned in, without all the advantages that I could give myself. This includes the proper gas, equipment, etc. I shall not skimp on life support.
3. There are people who are in this industry with a very low opinion of recreational divers (I am a recreational diver, or as Bill Nagle would say, Cattle).

I am off to buy The Last Dive from Barnes and Noble.
