Who has been out post Ernesto?
I'm debating on taking some newly certified - first post-class dive - out tomorrow but if the vis is really bad then I'll just dive myself.

Mostly considering beach but might do a boat if the seas and vis are good.

Thanks for the info!

It's dead flat calm right now up here. Can't say what your viz will be like down there since the SF Water Management drained out the canals in anticipation of Ernesto flooding south Florida.

It was ok to good today at LBTS as the tide was coming in.

Not bad this morning on a beach dive off LBTS on an incoming tide. Not great but certainly diveable, especially since you will have students and you know how they stick like glue! :D

It was pea soup this morning off Palm Beach.

I learned how to dive in pea soup... We had 15-20 on Tear Drop this morning, and 15-25 in the Trench, Dive-A-Rama, North Double Ledges... we covered a lot of ground on our second dive... current took us for a beautiful ride...

This morning the viz at the Road to Bimini / Hollywood Rockpile was <10' inside, and 15-20' near the east end of the road.

Hey, thanks for putting it into perspective!!! My checkout dives were in a quarry in Pennsylvania in May of 1980. It's bad enough it was about 50 degrees, but it was so murky that not only could I not see my own fins, I had to hold hands with my instructor so as not to lose him!!!

Now that you have reminded me of that fateful day 26 years ago, I think I will always be grateful for any vis that exceeds 10 feet. :D

went to ft. pierce/vero beach area on first sat post ernesto.... conditions were so bad we quit after 10 min in the water even though it was a 90 min drive from orlando. good vis was 3-5ft and bad was 1ft or less. i spent 5 min where i literally could not see my had at arms lenght

Now that's the type of pea soup I learned to dive in. We used to spearfish for catfish in that kind of viz. 1 ft... no problem... we just had to get closer. 3-5 was good viz for us...

Thanks for the update on Ft Pierce & Vero... I had thoughts of heading down there.. I guess I'll wait until it settles down a bit...
