Don't forget it's not just the reg that needs servicing. The inflater, inflater quick disconnect, and spg swivel should also be cleaned and serviced.
Tank valves also

Tank valves also

Do shops really do VIPs without servicing the valve? I always thought that would be included in the VIP or O2 service maybe? What is the recommended frequency for valve rebuilds?

I believe it's charged additionaly, probably depend on the shop. I rebuild valve every time I do VIP.

Servicing tank valves is not an annual requirement. My oldest valves are 10 years old, have never been serviced, and work fine.

I forgot about valves, however yearly service is overkill.
I replace the valve to tank o-ring during VIP.
I clean and service the valve before hydro. The hydro station returns full tanks with a sticker and I'me ready to go.

As for the tank valve, it is depending on the tank. If there is no sign of rust or any dirty stuff for the simple air tank, it won't be a big issue to skip the annual service. But, for the nitrox tank for the PP blending, I clean the valve when I am doing O2 cleaning my tank.

Have you ever disassembled the manifold? You will be surprised at how much dirty it is....

The way I got started was volunteering at a local dive shop. Got the technician to show me and eventually got certified by Genesis. I have my own tools, except an ultrasonic cleaner. I'm trying to build a library of schematics for as many regs as possible. If anyone has some handy please help. Coop

I need some new tools, any one have the link to a site to get some? Mine are pretty shot.
