I believe AL & Apeks has a 2 year overhaul interval with an "inspection" required for the off years. But their "free" parts are also only available every other year. If you need them more often, I believe you get to buy them!

Yep, I noticed a small leak coming from my Atomic SS1 octo so I took it to my LDS 3 times and they could not fix it. I sent it to Atomic and they Replaced the high pressure seat and piston in the 1st stage of the B2. Intermediate Pressure was to high so that was causing the octo to leak. I dove it this past Sunday and it works great. Atomic stuff is great but I was kinda bummed that I had a problem so quickly though.

Smart guys at the LDS I see. <shakes head>.

I don't know how true it is, but I've heard once form a service tech, that o2 compatible lubricants gets too dry to do their job after a year more or less, that's why annual servicing is important for o2 clean equipment.

The truth is many regulators, regardless of brand, will not need service for 2 or more years, but many will need service in 1 year or less.

IMHO the annual service plan that most manufacturers and dealers follow is arbitrary, but pretty well chosen.

Ditto completely.... It is pretty much for LDS money flow, not for the manufacture, either. As we know, the annual part price is very minimal....
