Hello everyone. Scuba newb here from South Africa. Just finished my open-water course and am in the market for a wetsuit.
Long-term, don't see myself diving > 30m (but you never know ;)).
I am generally very sensitive to cold, so I am looking at a 7mm suit. (I was fine in 5mm rental suits at 23C to a depth of 10m.)
Can anyone tell me at what depth would squeeze from a semi-dry suit be a problem / very painful?
To rephrase, would I experience uncomfortable squeeze up to 30m?

Thanks in advance

Nope. My semidry is serving me well in depths of about 20m atm. There is a slight squeeze, but I just wriggle around and all is well. I am also very sensitive to the cold and have always had trouble with rental suits. A good fitting, decent quality semidry is keeping me toasty warm in waters of 21C.

Hi Ridonze - good to see another SAffa on the board. I regularly dive depths to 30mish in a semi-dry suit (albeit 5mil) and what little squeeze I have experienced has been minimal and short-lasting. As long as the suit fits well, it should not be a problem.

Thanks a lot guys.
Great to be swimming among you'll.
One more ques....should it fit as tightly as the normal wetsuits?
@GramsciBeat - was looking at Scubapro Nova Scotia and Cressi Atlantis. Any other suggestions? Know a good store who will give good advice re: sizing, etc. as well as decent prices?

I have a Nova Scotia. Loving it. Just make sure the seals are right, and the person in the diveshop should be able to give you advice on fit. My semidry has a little bit of give in the torso, which disappears when underwater.
