Just saw a manufacturer's video on the Tizip. One thing that caught my attention was how smoothly it opened and closed. How easy is it to open and close a back zip suit like the Nex-Gen with one of these zippers? I know divers that can close a standard metal zipper with a short cord or leash. It seems it might be much easier with the plastic zipper.

A quick search on youtube turned up at least 4 videos.
Seems easier, less kinking.

Just fix your drysuit already and go diving!

Have you cut the zipper out yet?

had the T Zip installed 'bout 1.5 years ago. Nex Gen, back Zip. 40 dives later, all my buddies tell me how easy it is to zip both directions, lot easier than the old one. Everybody likes it, including me. I've never tried myself ( with a short cord ) if that is what you are thinking about.

I also dive the NexGen and talked with a guy once who self-donned his back zip suit. He would attach a clip with a length of rope to his zipper strap, and then tie the rope off on his jeep. After a good pull and verification, he was zipped up. If this worked for a brass zipper, the new Tzip would have to be easier.
