Short Description
Marine natural products have been an important new source for drug leads for many diseases, such as cancer, infectious diseases, and chronic pain. Scientific diving, facilitated and monitored through the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS), has played an important role in the access to marine collections. We will discuss some of the methods we use for discovering marine natural products and the role that diving plays in our research.
