Started my dive season here. Dove Lake Quassapaug last weekend but do not really count that. I was called up last minute to find missing dock anchors for a group installing their docks. 49 degrees air, pouring rain and 52 degree water temp. I dive wet with a 5 mil so I was in an out as soon as I located the chains which fortunately was within minutes. Took a nicer dive yesterday with sunshine air temps in the 60s and water temp 54-55. Vis normally excellent for a lake was down considerably, likely because of all the rain we have had this past week. Found a nice new river anchor that must have been lost recently and retrieved it.

I tried out my new Henderson Thermaxx 5 mi with new Bare 5 mil sealtec hood. I had been diving with an old neosport 5 mil with neoport 3 mil hood. The neosport is about 5 years old and had hundreds of dives and was past its prime. A great value though for the money. The Thermaxx and Bare hood were noticeably warmer with much less water movement and intrusion inside.

Hope to head out to RI and Ft W before the end of the month. Happy diving!

I do one dive in a day once weekly, gearing up/down in the house all winter. Below 40F water at times and nothing much to see. I'm lucky to live right on the Atlantic and can keep the wheels greased diving wet. Not much to see at Wetherill in summer, so I may go back to King's Beach area (shorty of course).
