Hi NorCalDM,

I hear ya! And that includes my post. However, (you knew there was a "but" coming) most of the bromides mentioned above work well. I have used quite a few different de-foggers. Toothpaste even works well and makes your mask smell minty fresh.

Chilly in Canada has a good point. I would not waste my money when I have a suitcase full of potential defoggers. Including a sinus full of snot.

All good info I agree but it does not answer the question the OP asked. They asked for opinions about a specific product that they have already purchased why not answer the question and give input on what you use. I see to many threads on SB that take a turn at the start of the thread and never get back to the original point of the thread "including this post". I wonder how many that have responded to this thread have used the product that was asked about I have and as I said earlier it didn't work for me. Also I didn't waste my money it was given to me to try just had a foggy dive!

You recommend that people use dish soap? Like Sunlight or Ajax? Always thought that any residue may sting your eyes. Am I wrong?

Just make sure to rinse well but we've never had issues with stinging eyes.

The quality of response a person can give to a post varies. Ideally, an account of 1st hand experience (or a link to one) of the product in question directly pertaining to the question is likely best.

Sometimes, you can't find that. Maybe one person, if that, can post.

But it can be of value to post of viable alternatives and how they work. Ttriton has already bought some, & will probably try it; now he knows some cheap options to try & compare it to, and may eventually come back and tell us how the product stacked up. There is value in that.

In the mean time, if you want 1st hand accounts from a scuba-related product, and you don't find a lot here, consider an online vendor who has product pages with user reviews - Amazon.com, LeisurePro.com, ScubaToys.com & Scuba.com all fit the bill. I've run into a delay or two with Scuba.com so I don't tend to buy from them these days, but their site often lists quite a bit of product info. I've bought plenty via the other 3.

I searched Internet sources and didn't find much info. I was suppose to be on Flower Gardens trip this weekend but got blown out. I just didn't want to experiment the unknown on this trip. Now I have time to try it out on a local dive, since I already have it. Also might try baby shampoo. How are yall using baby shampoo? Spray in dry mask and let dry or rinse it out?

Anybody use this? I have been using sea gold gel, but recently bought a bottle of seavue spray to try. Haven't tried it yet, just wanted some feed back. Directions on website say to not rinse mask, but bottle says to spray mask, rinse and then spray mask again.
Gel seemed to leave a haze on my mask, so I wanted to try a spray.

When was it hazy?

Before you splash don't worry about a little haze. Moments after you splash condensation will disperse the haze as it promotes sheeting (defogging). I never rinse my baby shampoo, that defeats to application. If the stuff is too goopy for your liking wet the mask a little BEFORE application so the product is retained.

If the haze persists through the dive find another product or try to sweat more.
