I looked yesterday and they specifically note that they handle "inland search and rescue". I believe most of their aircraft are small piston-singles that would not be appropriate for more than very-near-shore work at most.Does anyone know if the Texas or Florida Civil Air Patrols would get involved with something like this?
the USCG directly. As a Canadian citizen is the Canadian government/embassy aware and any calls they could make?
The official policy is one thing. What the paperclip pushers choose to do when facing public pressure might be another thing."Please note that we cannot coordinate or pay for search-and-rescue efforts to locate missing Canadians."

Or it might not. In any case, I don't think that public pressure would hurt much.
To put it mildly, we definitely don't disagree on that.I really think that due to the proximity to the US, any efforts to get US resources on board would be the best avenue to take. Compared to Mexico, US resources are phenomenal. Even if they don't mount a specific proactive search, just having US resources aware that they should be looking during routine patrols would be an immense benefit.
On a hopeful note, there are light showers in Cozumel today, and Key West radar shows some showers to the SW. If Cameron encounters a shower, he can capture rainwater with his mask to help address dehydration issues.
