I think he is referring to the well-known fact that whenever someone asks which BC to buy, someone always says that a BP/W setup is the best way to go. (I'm guilty of this as well)

Mike

That's because we're right. ;)

I also vote for BP/W, but that being said, I've owned a Seaquest ProQD+ BC. Nice BC, very high quality stuff, I just prefer the BP/W.

Redover......sure......

Some airlines are notorious for losing baggage. ......I dont want to dive in rented gear. ....No problems.

Thank you for answering what was no doubt a stupid question (God! I hate being such a geek in this sport.) I wanted to be sure there was not some other thing going on like a chance of blowing up.
Happy trails, oops, make that bubbles.

Thank you to all of you guys for your help, specially Antics.

I decided to go for the Seaquest Pro Unlimited. I will buy in the next weeks when I go to New York (Much cheaper than in Europe).

Antics: I finally found out the story about the inflator I was asking in the begining. The photo I saw was of the BCD with the optional airsource. By the way, if I opt for the reg LX Supreme (cold water), does it make any sense to use this airsource? would it be reliable in cold water? (I am not sure whether what is important is the first stage or not).

Thanks once again.

No worries about the help, just airing my opinions and everyone here's happy to help.

As for the optional airsource, I'm not really a fan of them. You could buy the regs without an alternate second stage and in an emergency switch to the airsource while giving your buddy your second stage, but I don't like the idea of having to take my reg out. If there's a real problem I'd prefer to have an alternate that someone else can just grab, leaving me with both hands free (and a reg in my mouth) to deal with other stuff. Is there anyone out there who uses a BCD airsource who can go through the pros and cons of that option?

I have a Pro Umlimited. It is Very Bulky for Dive Travel. Something I didn't pay attention to when I bought it. I'm now having to consider a second BC for Warm Water/Tropcial Diving Trips. It is an absolutely excellent jacket style BC. It's built like a tank as thers have mentioned. I have over a hundred dives on mine and it looks like brand new.

Just bought my BCD and regulator.

I decided to buy the Pro Unlimited together with the Legend Supreme LX and the corresponding octopus.

It is in fact quite big and quite heavy. But it definetively looks good. Going to try it in one week in the cold waters of Zeeland (Netherlands).

Thanks to all for your help.

Congratulations!

I've just packed exactly the same kit for a months trip to Japan!

Enjoy Zeeland..

Can I get my vest bcd in a bag....yep. Is it as easy....nope. Do I want to carry my bcd on just like my regs???? Dang right I do especially if I am flying Air Jamaica and a couple others. That is near impossible with my vest....easy as pie with my bp&wing.
That is, of course until a TSA drone things the BP would make an excellent bludgeoning device and doesn't allow to take it on. Hopefully they will let you back into your checked luggage to put it there.

I agree with proQdiver, thought. I have the Pro QD+ and am very happy with it. It definitely is on the heavier side of the spectrum, but not as bad as the Pro Unlimited... and the price is definitely right!

I purchased the very same setup about six months ago, & i love it! I went w/ the Pro Unlimited BCD, Legend LX Supreme Reg., & the Vytec Computer. On my recent rip to Cozumel, I was able to fit all my stuff into a suitcase no problem. I brought the usaul kit plus 2 Lights, w/ no problems. Hope you have alot of enjoyment out of your purchase.

I love my seaquest for diving single. My wife just bought a seaquest balance It is very nice aswell not as bulky. Happy diving
