Hi all,

I have a Seamann SMB, fairly normal orange thing with dump valve, fill at the bottom by exhaling into it. Now the bottom valve is self sealing so that after filling it, it stays full. But the valve seems to seal too well. If I exhale into the funnel at the bottom, air collects in the funnel without moving through the seal into the SMB itself. I then have to stick my finger into the seal and then it releases and everything then works as expected.

Is there anything I can do? Other than just throwing it away and buying another brand?

Thanks!

I think I have the same one, Seemann Deco Buoy Deluxe, but I haven't experienced any trouble with it. Manufacturing error perhaps?

have you tried purging your reg into it to fill it?

If it has a funnel shaped bottom with a flap inside on it, then it's like the SMB I have and thats how I fill it
