Question MAKO: Seeking Feedback for Application of SMB to Recreational Diving

Oh, wow... What are the dimensions on the float? And are the CO2 cartridges commonly available? This sort of DSMB would be ideal for CCR.
Looks like standard air pistol CO2 cartridges. Also used for High School shop constructed wooden race cars back in the day. Less than $1 each through Walmart.

I'd be in to see if it could be modified and fitted to a larger DSMB.

It seems like it would be great for emergency (SHTF) use, but the size of the DSMB would need to be addressed.

The MAKO Co2 Auto Inflating White Seabass Float is a self inflating float designed to bring your fish to the surface. Once speared, attach the float to your shooting line and pull the cord to activate the Co2 cartridge. The built in “over pressure valve” prevents the float from over inflating as it ascends. Great for White Sea Bass and is also used by commercial spearfishermen for raising stringers. Also works as an emergency signaling device and surface marker buoy. Provides 27 pounds of lift.
