I recently bought a used DC310 with dual strobes, micros and WA and case and stuff from a SB member. I was excited about taking this camera on my upcoming trip to Kona (I leave Monday :D). I'm not a photographer, and I wanted some practice time before the vacation. So, about two weeks ago I took three days off and drove five hours to the Hood Canal, just to dive and learn the camera. I was going to do 7 dives alone, just hanging in one place learning the camera. I would go back to my motel room after each dive to analyze the shots on my laptop before making the next dive. It was a perfect plan.

Until, two minutes into my first dive, I flooded the camera. Augh!! When I opened it up I could see that I had gotten Moisture Muncher crystals all over the O-ring.

When I got home, I sent it at once to SeaLife with a note saying I'd bought it used, that I'd flooded it, and begging for it to somehow be repaired and returned by today, so I can take it to Hawaii. I was more than willing to pay the repair and shipping cost.

I kept waiting for them to call for my credit card. Since I didn't hear form them, I called yesterday and was told that it was sent back yesterday.

It arrived today. They didn't fix the camera. They didn't fix the housing.

They replace both with brand new! And the invoice said, no charge. Free. Including the overnight shipping.

Never before have I bought a used piece of gear, destroyed it due to operator error and then had it replaced for free (except a fly rod, once).

Major kudos to these guys! I know the DC310 is just an entry level camera, but now the pictures in Hawaii next week will be even more sweet!

Just thought I'd let you know...

Had the same experience with them.....the ONLY company that didn't stick it to me for buying from LeisurePro!

Have fun in Hawaii Rick, please post some photos when you get back!

Truly amazing! You don't hear stories like that much these days. Kudos to Sealife!

Glad to hear about your experience. I just sent my new DC500 back. I had it fail on two major dive trips. LDS tried but did not fix the problem-battery would not last more that 1-2 dives.

Someone still believes in customer service.

Glad to hear your story Rick, I just bought a DC 500 but have yet to have any issues.
Had a similar experience with nite-rider and the opposite experience with dive-rite

Yeah, I just got my camera back from them and they charged me $1500. to replace the o-rings. :D Joking, that sounds like a great company and customer service.

Wow 2 minutes and it floods!!!
Damn, sorry to hear about that, but take heart this sort of thing happens to everyone basically :14:.

And i'm in shock that they replaced your camera......... with a new one.
That's the best customer service that i've ever heard of :D

Kudos to Sealife.

I just bought the DC500 Pro kit 2 days ago.
Your experience is yet another confirmation that I made the right decision...
