A couple of weeks ago a seagull (it must have been a seagull because they know how I feel about them) left a big white stain on my DSS Torus 35 wing as it was drying on the line in my back yard. The offending excrement did not stay on the wing very long, not out in the sun, but it did dry completely. I've tried several times of:
A: high-pressure (3 atmospheres) salt-water soak for about 45 minutes (otherwise know as... diving, duh!) followed by
B: overnight soak in tap water followed by
C: scrubbing with an old toothbrush and Dr. Bronners's soap
and it's still there! It's not going away, it's just spreading out. HELP!

Maybe Tobin can find some Seagull-poop white cordura to start making wings out of.

P.S. I don't know if I told the rest of you guys, but I'm very happy with my DSS rig. Tobin helped me pick the right components to begin with, and the service and customer support after the sale has been great.

God I hate seagulls! I grew up on the Oregon coast, and my wife never understood my dislike for the birds (being from Arizona) until I took her to Cannon Beach OR. After they ripped her grocery bags open, drug her clothes out of her bag at the beach, and crapped on everything, she now shares my "love" of them. That being said, would saddle soap work?

seagulls = rats with wings

My four year old neice learned to hate them quickly...they stole her bag of chips out of her hand at the beach last year...the next time we were out she chases them and yells...stupid seagull! (we're not taking her to the beach this year...she's been hoarding Alka Seltzer)

Anyway...how about something like spot shot? I use it on carpets for stains (usually cat yak) you spray it on and let it work for a few seconds then scrub it with a wash cloth. (or oxy clean...but that stuff may discolor the wing)

good luck!
