I was looking at one at the LDS a few days ago. Seems like it was pretty hard right in the package... I as expecting something soft like silicone.

It is notably firmer than a regular silicone mouthpiece, but because it's molded to one's teeth, it's much more comfortable. I recommend it.

Warning: If you do get one, you will see that the directions tell you to bite hard into the mouthpiece when you are molding it. If you bite too hard, though, it will be so thin that you can't breathe through your teeth. Instead, bite until you have indented your teeth in it, but stop when your teeth are still far enough apart that you can easily breathe. I lost my first one due to this mistake.

We love them.

Both my wife and I use them, love them and will always have one. Think of a sports mouth guard in the shape of a mouthpiece. Mine got too...let me rephrase this...after becoming not so flexible, I re-did the initial moulding process and it was like new again. They can be re-moulded a few times.

Not for everyone, and be sure to get the correct one for YOUR regulator - they are not all the same.

thanks for the reviews. Almost 100 percent in favor of them. This makes my decision alot easier!

Mine is almost 5 years old and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I even put one on my backup reg just in case. If molded right (the don't bite too hard advise is right on) you can literally relax your jaw almost to the point of opening your mouth and the reg stays put.

I had one, hate it. I have an Atomic B2 with the swivel hose, no jaw fatigue now.

Have used a Seacure for 8 years now and wouldn't be without one. As long as you mold it comfortably to your bite it makes a huge difference. (First time it took me a couple tries as I think I was overly cautious about doing it wrong.) Since you can also trim the Seacure down I was able to make it fit perfectly. Having a very small mouth and jaw, as well as an overbite, standard mouthpieces were always very uncomfortable. These days I don't even really have to think about keeping it in, it just stays put naturally.

+1. Contrary to some other posters, I have a TMJ misalignment and an Atomic B2 reg, the combination of which left my jaw muscles aching leading to headaches after a day of diving. I got the Seacure and molded it properly (like another poster said, do not bite down too hard - just naturally in a comfortable position). When done correctly and trimmed down just right, the reg should be able to just sit on your lower jaw without falling out, using only the slightest pressure against your upper jaw.

Now I can dive my Atomic all day with no jaw fatigue or headaches whatsoever.
