See you all Sunday at Casino Point around 9 am . Sounds like there will be at least 3 for the first dive and more later. I really hope an experienced local can show for a briefing. Im easy to spot at 6'4'' 220 54 yrs and a baseball type cap. Out the door and down the road I go.

The group from Scuba Board will still be at Casino Point Saturday, although I'm not sure how many divers there will be. I'm planning to have a sign saying "Welcome Scuba Board" (or something more creative) attached to my hand cart. I can also be recognized as the one with the tattered steel gray and yellow M&B wetsuit with the legs chopped off... although I may just surprise some of the SB members by wearing a brand new Seaquest wetsuit.

Brian- I'm about as loco... er, local... as you get out here. Have lived on the island and dived Catalina waters off and on for the last 35 years. I'm usually in the Dive Park on weekends since it is the most affordable diving I can do.

Would be happy to give those who want it a briefing about the Park. It's a very easy place to dive as long as ther are no Nor'easters! During the severe storms on the mainland yesterday, it was sunny and calm here... we watched the lightning over the mainland.

Conditions should be good this weekend... water temp at depth Tuesday was 62-64 degrees (quite tropical). Vis looks good (min 40-50 ft). I'll be diving in a few hours so I'll try to post an update.

Pick up the Avalon Bay News on the boat ride over and read my column about the Pacific electric ray occasionally seen in the dive park.

Thanks Dr Bill. I will try to hook up with group before and after Sat boat trip. I hope to get to island early Friday afternoon for orientation dives.

Why Ken it is "my" column as I said... you must have missed that. Self-promotion is a good thing, greed is not (it's a freebie on the boat and I don't get paid for writing them).

Did four dives today but none past 65 feet. Conditions were good even on the last dive when it was getting dark (the "bugs" were starting to come out and I forgot my DEET). Vis good, 40-50 ft; mild surge, no real current.

Get ready to dive this weekend!

Dr. Bill
