In regard to a reduction in European business, I really doubt that will be the case. @Scuba-74 and I were on the Tillis a few weeks after the Sea Story accident and of the divers who knew what happened no one was concerned. I suspect most divers are not on Scubaboard or any other forum. Of the people I dive with only 3-4 have ever heard of it.
I'm a new diver and already use scubaboard as source of truth, or at least the most relevant information source for diving. How come so many people on LOB are not on this forum?

Many people, including divers, now use Social Media for news. Also SB is perceived to contain more North American Divers, so the questions and answers are relevant to NA divers. I use Facebook groups a lot more now.

Are there any good Facebook groups that you recommend?

I closed my Facebook account a few years ago, but happy to reopen it if it's useful for diving info.

I regard it as my duty to pass on information I gain from Scubaboard and the news to whereever, including Facebook, especially when people are raving about how safe all Egyptian liveaboards are!

Does anyone know when the part 2 and 3 of the dive magazine article be published?
I'm working on part 2 - it got delayed slightly so I could talk to one of the other survivors. Should be out this week and in Friday's (14 Feb) newsletter.

I'm on multiple WhatsApp dive groups here in the UAE as well as a few International ones, where the Egyptian LOB issues are well known.

However, dangle a cheap one week LOB in front of divers and they just take the bait irrespective of what's going on.

There's definitely at bit of "it won't happen to me" attitude by many divers.

"Dangle" and "take a bait" assumes that there is something wrong with it. There isn't.

Had a very good experience with that very op as recently as December. Very good for the money. Would do it again, if not for the long flights, and other reasons unrelated to diving.

Do you mean the "very op" that lost two boats, a number of its divers' lives and is currently out of business?
