Well I think it is not necessary for the OW. As more you add as more hasle it is to make the first step into diving. On the other hand there are still a lot instructor who are complete against Nitrox and small DC without Nitrox. My last holidays on an island with 5 DC not one had Nitrox.
 
I think that nitrox is will give me a good safety margin, as I get older... and if I dove it as if it were air.

For now, it can help me squeeze in more dives per day, and perhaps can decrease my surface interval. Although at a cost.

The biggest advantage to nitrox is it decreases your surface interval so you can get in more repetative dives.. which is awesome if you're on a dive trip and want to maximize time under. I don't think you'll notice any big difference anywhere else in using it.


kawasakign: Adding nitrox to OW would be to overwelming and confusing probably, but adding Nitrox to the AOW course would be a good idea... that course needs more content anyways.
