Scubapro is an excellent line. It is one of many quality dive equipment lines. While diver's purchases are their own business and how they use and maintain their equipment has everything to do with their experience, there is noone who can say that any particular line is not as good as another. Most dive companies do not make the bulk of the product they sell, which is why so much stuff resembles so much stuff. Dacor, Atmos, Apeks, and all the lines sold under the international "Aqualung" company, are all good lines. Some lines, like Scubapro, walk a fine line between fair trade and price fixing, both illegal in the U.S. Their dealers do not discount the product or sell it online for fear of losing the line. America is a big country with many dealers who sell diving equipment. Some dealers will sell you a product for less. That does not mean the product is not as good as the one which sells for full msrp. P.

ScubaPro makes a great reg. I have 3 of their 1st stages and 5 or so 2nd stages. Zero problems.

I also use MK25/G250 and MK25/G200 regs. I haven't done any cold water/ice diving, but plan too this next year (after training). Can you share with me your concerns about the MK25 in cold water? What is your opinion on other Scubapro products (G250, S600, etc.) for cold water diving? Want to make sure they don't freeze up.
I have read about every thread regarding SP regs but haven't found much regarding cold water diving.

I'm no expert by any means, but in general, the concerns stem from the fact that the mk25 is a piston reg, where the internals are exposed to the water (as opposed to the MK16, which is a diaphragm/environmentally sealed reg). Regardless of SP's TIS, AF, etc., there are concerns that mixing HP compressed air/reg mechanisms and frigid water can lead to freeze up. Do some more searches, as this subject has come up on a regular basis, with Apeks regs seeming to be the favored among cold water usage. If I have any of this wrong, definitely correct me.
