I've dived Mk25 & S600 and never had a problem with freeflow. I did once have a dramatic freeflow with my old Davor viper regs... but that was caused primarily by pre-breathing the regs on a cold, frosty morning. Now, as a standard procedure, I save my 'pre-breathe' until I am in the water and can get my face submerged.

I've heard many accounts that seem to point at the fact the new or newly serviced regulators are the most prone to free-flows. Even when the servicing is flaw-less, the equipment needs time to 'bed in'. After any service, I always make sure that I am diving more conservatively as the regulators settle down...and I am studying their performance and tweaking them as necessary.
