$50 for a kit is ridiculous. I suggest you source the O-rings separately and then just deal with the LP seats. The seats from a HOG kit should work fine. Or VDH may have the rivet style seats or kits containing them. Best bet is to find a shop that will sell you the Trident rivet style seat. It has been quite a while now but I think I was paying about $2.50 per seat. Or you can just wait for better buys on ebay.

I have tried the Trident rivet style seat in a balanced adjustable and it works fine. I have never tried the HOG seat but it is fairly obvious that all the balanced barrel poppet designs seem to now use the same rivet style replaceable seat. If in doubt, give it a try and if the shoe fits....

I lost my source of kits. I did manage to get a small stock of various seats and other parts to go with my stock of o-rings. These rivet style seat seem to last quite a few years. My wife's Mk20/S600, which is all she dives, goes 5 years or more on a new LP seat. If you are really in a bind, I can probably spare a seat but I am in the mode now of expecting my parts stock to last the rest of my diving life. But I still keep an eye on ebay for deals I just can't pass up.

Yes, VDH does sell an after market kit for $9 that includes the seat, the hard to source 2.2x1mm o-rings, and one for the knob.

And yes, the seat of the HOG will work, it's been verified here, but their o-rings appear to be a tad too small, at 2x1mm. They may still work, try them and tell us. :)

He needs a kit for a G250HP not a plain G250. My understanding is a G250HP requires the same kit as a G500/S600/S550/s555 etc. I don't think VDH sells these.

Yes and no: the poppet is not the same... BUT:

  • Same seat: 11250221
  • Same tiny o-rings: 01050363
The only thing the OP will have to source separately is the knob o-ring, 01050145, which is a 2-012, easy enough to find. SP says Duro 85, but a 70 will work just as well. The majority of HP hose O-rings (except SP) should fit.

I'm fairly sure all except the X650 use the S-wing poppet and the only differences between the lot is the o-rings that are included.

I checked the schematics and the poppets are the same, but there does seem to be more o-rings with the HP version. Probably most can be reused, so the g250 kit may work.

I can get you those trident rivit style seats if your looking. Also, shoot me a PM and I might be able to point you in a direction for scubapro kits. But not going to name my source on the open forum to prevent issues on that end.
