Hi all, pretty new to diving. only 17 dives in the RedSea. Anyway, I was given a reg set that has r380 for the primary and octo. I had them serviced and the tech says they are like new. But replaced all parts and i think he said he had to upgrade the 1st stage. Ive only been to 18m in warm water with a rented aqualung set. Ill be doing AOW next trip to Hurghada and wonder if this set will be fine to 30m in 22c+ deg water. Of course I will be testing them in shallow water to see what its like. Or am I worrying for nothing? I was worrying because I know these are not new regs, and they arent really ideal for primary second stage so I read.

Thanks!

Mark

There's nothing wrong with using an R380 for your primary and another R380 for an octo. It should be fine.

You should be doing a set of comprehensive functional tests on your regs before every dive, particularly after servicing.

Enjoy the reg setup and dive safely...

Excellent bubble, thanks for the help and thats a great thread ive bookmarked.

Why did the guy say you needed to upgrade the 1st stage? If it's a MK2 and its in good shape, it will work extremely well. 30m is no problem at all for the MK2.

Ill post back when ive got the gear. Will have it back this week. I could be mistaken. We sent the gear to my wifes lds in germany cause she trusts him and hes a SP dealer/service center. Since I cant speak german I was getting a translation from her haha.

Hi guys, pretty sure this is an MK20 and needed the recall update. Of course im new to this equipment. That was the *upgrade*.
