Being something of a newbee, I'm looking for some input on regulators from some experienced divers.

I can get a used (6 years old, only about 10 dives) SP MK10 w/ a G250 which, with the annual service and parts, will run the same price as a new Aqua Lung Calypso and back up second stage. In your opinion, which will last longer and be the better value over time?

SP MK10 and G250 are/were on the higher end of the line, whereas Calypso presents the entry level offering.

If the price is right and the reg is in good condition, I'd go with Scubapro.

there is new pricing on the AL products this month.

I'd buy the MK10/G250 (as long as it's the old style G250, not the G250hp) from you so you can get the new calypso. What does that tell you?

coldstroke:
SP for two reasons: SP are the best; the G250 breathes like you are on the surface. You will not go wrong.
Does not... the surface breathes like the surface, but I would also go with the G250.

Note: I have one of the 650's that breaths wet upside down...guess they are not perfect.

if the "buy the 1st & 2nd stage and get the octo free" program is over, I do believe that now or sometime this month, the fixed price range window set by AL is waived for a few days .. check with your LDS/Dealer.

it's how I picked up my new Legend LX ACD for cheap!
