The 17 weighs a full pound more than the 25 UL (30 oz vs 14 oz). Maybe I was imagining it. :wink:

Then I recommend you ditch the 17 and buy a MK-7. It will give you even more weight.
 
It's my understanding that most first stages can deliver more air than a diver needs and that the 2nd stage is the limiting factor (?)

The limiting factor is the tank valve not the first stage. The passages in the first stage are much larger than the orifice on the valve.

Think I'll swap out to a Cousteau 1st stage then I could probably ditch my Halcyon weighted STA.

I would need to weigh them but I think "The Honker" is heavier than the Cousteau.
